2025 LOIs submissions for WRC funding are due March 31st, 2025

Notes on eligibility and funding: 

 

• For applications targeting Alberta Innovates funding, the applicant(s) is required to secure matching funds from other sources (other than EPCOR) such as NSERC, MITACS, etc.

• For applications targeting EPCOR funding, the applicant(s) is required to secure matching funds from other sources (other than Alberta Innovates) such as NSERC, MITACS, etc. Please factor in 10% of the total budget to be allocated to WRC operations and research administration

• Alberta Innovates requires that applicants match 50% of total funding in cash and in kind

• EPCOR requires that applicants seek leverage funding through NSERC Alliance Grants

• For projects seeking funding from both AI and EPCOR, the total funding request will also have to be matched (50%) through other sources such as NSERC Alliance and/or others

• Suggested max of 100K, but WRC may consider higher requests with strong justification.

• WRC anticipates funding 6 projects per year going forward. This year, we have additional funding support through our partners that we will be able to leverage to support additional or larger projects.
